The presenter was born on July 20, 1958 in Hita City, Oita Prefecture, Japan. University in March 1983, and completed his graduate studies in synthetic chemistry at the Graduate School of Engineering, Kyushu University, in March 1985. In April of that year, he was hired by Kumamoto Institute of Technology (the former name of the current university) as an assistant professor. He worked as a lecturer, assistant professor, and associate professor before being promoted to professor in April 2019. In the meantime, he was awarded a doctorate in engineering from Kyushu University in July 1991. Currently, he is also the manager of the men's volleyball club in Sojo University
